Use your drones to tempt bees out of their hive and guide them to flower patches, avoiding pesticides and Rory the Labrador, who loves chasing bees.

Decades of destroying habitats, intense pesticide use and climate change have left the bees in a bad way. They need help to find flowers, pollinate them, and create honey. You have a fleet of drones at your disposal to help them out.

Dancer

The only thing these days that will tempt the bees out of their hive is some good old fashioned dancing. Place this drone near the hive to get the bees out.

Collector

The bees are unsure of where to safely gather nectar and pollen. Place this drone within range of some flowers to tell the bees where to gather.

Director

The bees need help to find their way around hazards and to the flowers. Place this drone to guide the bees to the flowers. Bees visit this drone in the order they were placed (for now... See improvement list below)

Distractor

Rory the Labrador really hates things that fly, included bees. Use the Distractor drone to keep Rory away from the bees allowing them to safely pass.

Pesticides

Bees will die if they come into contact with pesticides. Place your drones to guide the bees around the pesticides to the flowers.

Rory the Labrador

Rory loves chasing bees, he will follow them for a short time before attacking them. Use the Distractor drone to keep him away from the bees.

Sleepy Snail

This snail will wake up from time to time and eat your flowers. Click him (maybe more than once...) to put him back to sleep. Flowers are less efficient when eaten, but bees will repollinate them.

Gameplay notes:

  • Director drones are visited in the order they are placed down
  • Right clicking a Director drone will remove it - the visit order can be a bit janky then, I will fix it.
  • The timer starts when you place your Dancer drone

Saving the bees isn't a competitive sport, but if it were you would need to do better than that... Keep trying to beat your own high score with efficient drone placement.

Made in a week

This is my first finished game. It was made for the Week Sauce game jam in May 2024 in 7 days.

The theme was "Drones, not evil after all!"

I have a number of planned improvements, but wanted to release the game jam version that was created during the time allowed. Here are a number of things I am going to be adding:

  • Snails - Snoozing until they aren't, you'll need to put them back to sleep to avoid them eating your flowers.
  • Badgers - They will steal honey from the hive if you don't shoo them away.
  • Wayward Bees - Bees that get lost and need to be knocked back on track.
  • Drone Energy - Drones will run on honey, needing you to balance collection vs drone charge.
  • The Turbeecharger - Consume honey to increase the speed of the bees.
  • Improved Director Pathing - Add a pathing tool that lets you link director drones in order so it's a bit less janky.
  • More levels - Different maps with different challenges.

This is such a cute little gem of a game! I love the art and the chill vibes and watching my bees while they collect honey. :)

Thank you so much!
